Our Story

For years, wealth management firms have faced the same bottleneck: attracting and keeping the right talent. Too often, recruiting has been generic, transactional, or focused on M&A instead of the true work of building W-2 teams.
That’s why The Well was born.
A Founder Who Has Lived It
Before launching The Well, Steve Perry spent 17 years inside a Fortune 100 wealth management firm.
- Built a new advisor team from scratch to 40 advisors in five years.
- As Managing Partner, grew an office from 40 to 80 advisors in just two and a half years.
- Later led a firm of 125 advisors, mentoring, hiring, and developing leaders.
In that time, he interviewed thousands of candidates, hired hundreds, and learned firsthand the weight leaders carry when growth depends on people.
After nearly two decades leading someone else’s company, Steve and his wife felt a clear call from God: step out, build something new, and serve firms differently.
The Well Today
Since November 2023, The Well has operated with one clear purpose: to be the trusted source of elite talent for growth-stage wealth management firms.

At The Well, our values aren’t wall art. They guide every decision, and our team is required to raise the flag if we ever drift from them.

Faith
This company was founded in faith and prayer. Every team meeting opens or closes in prayer. We employ Bible college students overseas, funding their tuition, room, and board, to pray for our company and our clients by name every single day. We work hard and plan wisely, but always leave room for God to multiply our efforts.
Family
Work should strengthen families, not compete with them. Most of our team works remotely, allowing them to be fully present with their spouses, kids, and communities. We honor and protect family as a priority.
Generosity
The Well was created to be an engine of generosity. We’re generous with our team, with our clients, and with ministries that spread the Gospel around the world. Generosity costs us something — and that’s why it matters.
Growth
Growth is rarely comfortable, but always worth it. At The Well, growth means wearing new hats, learning new skills, and embracing new technology. We believe stress is a signal to grow capacity, and that growth transforms us into the people and professionals we’re called to be.
Our Prayer Team
One of our most unique and strategic differentiators is our Prayer Team.
- We support over 30 Bible College students, funding their tuition, room, and board.
- Every day, these students pray for one hour over our clients, our candidates, and our company — by name.
- Many of these students have sacrificed greatly to follow their faith, and they gladly and joyfully cover our work in prayer.
We have seen miracles happen — for our clients, our candidates, and for ourselves as a company — through this daily intercession.
